In Fahrenheit 451 and "A Worn Path", both convey a theme of love with many different types of symbolism. There is symbolism in Fahrenheit 451 by using a “Phoenix” to represent rebirth. The firefighters burn the books to make a new society (Bradbury 70). There’s also symbolism in “A Worn Path” talking about the “Phoenix” as well. However, in the short story the phoenix is used in the main characters name to represent how wise she was (Chopin 88). As to what can be inferred, both Welty and Bradbury used the "Phoenix" as sources of symbolism to present the idea of life.
