In Sparta, the people that got to make the decisions for the public were called the Assembly. In order to be recognized in the Assembly, you needed to be a male citizen. If you weren’t chosen to get your voice heard in the community, you weren’t allowed to speak.

Also, 500 Athenians from the 10 tribes were chosen to the Boule Counsel. The Boule Council only consists of 400-500 citizens to run daily affairs of the city in Greece. This was later rigged by the Aristocrats.
Similarities and Differences of Governmental Structures
Similarities
Athens and Sparta were similar in the economy of the dependent agriculture. Also, they were both in Greece that dominated in everything during 500 BC. Another one was they both had Assemblies and slavery, but had different policies.
Differences
Sparta and Athens had a lot of differences between them because Sparta had education, but Athens didn’t. A big difference was Sparta’s military service was mandatory unlike Athens not being mandatory, but simply an option. Another big one was Sparta was considered as the protector of Greece since they had a military service training base and the Athens was considered the symbol of freedom, art and democracy. Lastly, Sparta had 2 kings and Athens only had
