Marines vs Army
Would you like to be all that you can be? If not how about being one of the few and the proud? These are the mottos for two branches of service; the Army and the Marine Corps, respectively. As a Marine veteran, and the father of a current marine, I feel that I am uniquely qualified to help you determine if either of these organizations are in your future. The first step in either service is going through a rigorous training known as boot camp or basic training. Not everyone is cut out for military service and even fewer are cut out to be Marines. these two locations are known as Marine Corps Recruit Depot or MCRD’s And it all depends on which side of the Mississippi you live. if you reside west of the Mississippi you 'll find yourself training in San Diego California however if you call anything east of the Mississippi home you will become a marine by way of Parris Island South Carolina Over a 12 week period, drill instructors will teach young men and women everything they need to know to become basically trained Marines. Likewise, the army has more than one training facility where they turn civilians into soldiers. young men and women will leave either one with a basic understanding of how the military works. they will learn The rules and regulations associated with the military, they will become more physically fit and they will learn the core values of their selected branch of service. Furthermore, they will be instructed in the areas of marksmanship, teamwork, and situational awareness. They will also learn characteristics such as honor, commitment, and discipline. All of these things will not only help them in their military careers but also in every endeavor they chose in
