Essay Against Animal Testing

Thousands of animals die each year, the cause? Humans. There are two sides of opinions about animals being tested on. The opinion in favor of it exists, because some people would much rather test on animals than humans, but the other side doesn't want animals to suffer just so we can get rid of a headache or the pain of a bruise. Around the world animals are dying every day just because of human’s carelessness and some people are ok with it bit america is being split in half over this topic. 50% of america thinks it is ok, and think animals can magically recover, and they don’t care because they never thought that it could lead to extinction for certain types of animals. Although the government could have done something more, when animals die in the lab they just order new animals and don’t think anything of it. America is so naive because they don’t think the animals being harassed are important to humanity. Should Scientists be allowed to test on animals? Scientists should not be allowed to experiment on animals. …show more content…
On February 9, 2017, the article “Torture of Animals Shames Our Society” clearly states that “testing on great apes such as chimpanzees, orangutans, and gorillas although testing on lesser apes continues behind a curtain of secrecy.”. This is bad because research shows that some types of monkeys that are being tested on are becoming endangered, such as the spider monkey. In 2017 an article called “Animal Experiments Are Morally 'Unthinkable'” said “And countless rats and mice are still being burned and poisoned”. This shows that the animals who are being tested on are animals we have power over and are doing it for no reason, “maim pigs, even though they suffer just as much and are just as smart, friendly and playful”. As you can see, the animals that are being experimented on are harmless to us, and are being punished for no reason what so

Animal Research is, has always been, and will most likely continue to be a delicate subject. The use of animals in research ranges from cosmetics to medical and wherever there are animals being tests there are groups of people arguing the morality and ethics of the testing being done. Excluding cosmetics and the like for now (that’s a different argument), the use of animal research in neuroscience is absolutely necessary and though it is a sensitive issue, there are ways to make it more ethically acceptable and to protect the animals themselves from blatant cruelty. Today, animal research is more humane than it has ever been.…

For most people there are two scenarios that come to mind when they hear animal testing. The first scenario is that scientist are torturing, neglecting and abusing the animals that are being tested on. The other scenario is that scientist are being ethical, take care of the animals and are creating life-saving medicines. This makes the use of animals in experiments a controversial topic; a topic that isn’t quite black and white when argued. There are different types of animal testing like, medical testing and cosmetic testing; one is more ethical than the other.…

After enduring a life of terror and pain almost all test subjects will be killed, if they do not die during the experiment (Animal Testing 101.) Animals do not deserve a life of suffering and pain just because humans might gain some knowledge about medicine or beauty products. With the number of effective alternatives that are available, animal testing should be put to an end. When it comes to the life, safety, and wellbeing of animals where do you…

People, especially scientists, are hurting innocent animals that did no harm to anyone. Animal testing shouldn't be allowed to happen because animals are getting hurt, they are not protected, and animals get mistreated. One reason that animal testing shouldn’t be allowed is because animals are getting hurt. For instance, the Draize eye test involves rabbits having their eyelids clipped open for as long as multiple days so that they don’t blink the product being tested away. Popular cosmetic brands like L'oreal, Lancome, Estee Lauder, and S.C. Johnson are used on animals.…

The testing on animals is a very touchy subject. It makes people wonder whether or not its cruel to advance technology by killing innocent animals. Killing animals for testing has its benefits but it's still inhumane to do that to animals. It can destroy populations of animals if tested often and if every lab has its own supply of animals the populations will drop by extreme numbers. The animals that are tested on often get terrible treatment as the people testing on them know they will soon die.…

In the article, Medical Testing on Animals is Cruel and Unnecessary, PETA said,”Even animals who are covered by the law can be burned, shocked, poisoned, isolated, starved, forcibly restrained, addicted to drugs, and brain-damaged-no procedures or experiments, regardless of how trivial or painful they may be, are prohibited by law.” Animals in experiments are not thought of as living beings that think and feel like we do, they are thought of as lab equipment that can be manipulated and thrown away at any time. Even though laws and welfare acts have been put in place to protect and care for animals being tested on, nothing can stop a scientist from performing a cruel experiment if they say it is in the name of science. Moreover, in the article, Animal Experimentation is Unnecessary, Sarah Rose A. Miller said,”If the animals are in a state of extreme distress from being trapped in tiny cages their whole lives with no stimuli and no room to move around, it can induce their various bodily systems to behave differently.” The animals are kept in filthy, barren cages, are socially deprived, and the only change in their day to day activity is when a scientist comes to take them for a new painful…

Animal cosmetics testing had become very popular in the decade. Many people are wanting to make sure the products they are using are not harmful to themselves and others. Animal cosmetic testing is performing a test of certain cosmetics for the safety and hypoallergenic properties of the products used by humans. This type of testing is very harmful to animals due to the type of tests performed as well as the chemicals used, and as a result of this, animal testing is opposed by animal rights activists and others. I believe that animal testing is very harmful due to certain chemicals and it should be abolished in the United States of America.…

Having been given a boost by the Silver Springs Monkeys case, animal rights groups now protest against testing done on animals more hotly than ever (Perdew 6-16). People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and the other extremists views line up with evolution. If mankind is no different than animals, then it would be wrong to test things on an animal that could potentially kill it. Extreme animal rights activists have been known to say absurd things such as: “A rat is a pig is a dog is a boy.” (Ingrid Newkirk, founder of PETA).…

Every animal has rights and their own dignity. Just because they are incapable of exercising those rights, doesn’t mean we are allowed to preform tests on them. They do not deserve to be randomly tested or killed for the benefit of the humane race. Just because we have more power over most of them, doesn’t give us the right to abuse or torture them, because we wouldn’t on our own kind. Animal testing is pointless, it doesn’t not give correct and reliable results, and it does not benefit either people or animals hugely. Joaquin Phoenix once said, “It takes nothing away from a human to be kind to an animal.” We will not see any negative effects on humans if we start treating animals with the respect and freedom they deserve. It is a factor that is bringing our planet down, and we need to stand up for it, and we could save millions of lives a…

Why Animal Testing Should Be Banned Everyday innocent animals are being forced into labs and tested for human research advancement. Cruelty Free International states how approximately 115 million animals, including rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, mice, dogs and monkeys are used in dangerous laboratory experiments every year. In fact, many of the experiments are said to be useless tests, as stated, “The reality is that the majority of animal experiments do not contribute to improving human health, and the value of the role that animal experimentation plays in most medical advances is questionable” (“Animal Testing is Bad Science”). Misconceptions by the media may stretch the idea how animal testing can cure diseases, illnesses etc.. But actually, as emphasized, animal testing is an inefficient way of finding medical advances, making the procedures to be unnecessary and making there be no reason to force animals into labs without a choice, it's blatantly a waste of animals lives.…
