To have an abortion or to not? TO NOT.

Although abortions have been around for many years, they have become very common within the past forty years. Twenty-one percent of all U.S. pregnancies, excluding miscarriages, end in abortion. (AGI). Abortion is defined as the ending of a pregnancy by removing a fetus or embryo before it can survive outside the uterus. Abortion was illegal until the Roe versus Wade case, which legalized abortions. Although abortions were illegal until this point, it did not stop them from happening. Often times physicians and other medical practitioners risked being imprisoned, getting fines and/or losing their medical licenses to conduct abortions. In some rare cases, women that have had an abortion previously have had trouble reproducing, multiple dilations and curettages (the cleaning out of the uterus, also known as a D&C) can cause scarring at the top of the cervix or inside the uterus. A procedure called hysteroscopy (when a small camera is placed through your cervix into your uterine cavity) can check for this problem and usually repair the scar tissue at the same time. (BabyCenter.Com) Any kind of procedure that dilates the cervix also weakens it. Dilating the cervix is a necessary step during most abortions. Just because a woman thinks she is not ready to have a baby does not give her the right to murder an innocent child. Babies are a blessing and they were put in the mother’s life for a reason. Terminating a pregnancy now could result in the failing of a woman’s reproductive system later on in life when she finally decides she wants a child.
