Even though the world has been changed a lot, people gradually find more problems need to solve, like poor women’s right. “I am powerful” is such an advertisement made by CARE to address and to make people take the responsibility for fixing this problem. Using "seeds" as the implication of a dream, CARE in this advertisement consistently convinces the public that both the donators and the poor women are powerful and thus persuading people to think of basic human problems in a more responsible way and to make change right now. Before viewers read the text under the picture, they might not sure the identity of this woman and whether she speaks English. But written in English, this subtitle suggests that women’s rights and their dreams are global and human being’s fundamental problems which everyone has responsibilities to take care. Meanwhile, it seems that “I am powerful” is saying both by the woman and the viewers, which thus may include two implications, as one is that women in Africa are capable of making themselves better if they can get the practical seeds, and another one is that viewers are powerful to make changes to help others realizing their dreams by just donating a little. By doing so, the maker again effectively connects the woman and the viewers, which makes the advertisement more …show more content…

I think writing this essay introduces me another way of writing, to use ethos, pathos and logos to make it be more persuasive. Besides those elements, I again learned the importance of organization, the structure of an essay. I actually still feel some of my transition is this essay is not very natural and effective, but I realize that good organization really helps us to write a condensed and strong essay. One thing I feel very sad is that I forgot to make an appointment with writing center, which eventually makes me feel very unsure about some of the sentences. But I learned that preparation for any activity is pretty

I could no longer do the one size fits all. Some of the papers required more work and thought to be put into it. While others, I was just analyzing and putting my thoughts about the subject. For my rhetorical and visual analysis paper, I chose to write about the visual storytelling of an art school’s ad and how it was weak in its presentation. When I decided to write my thoughts on this topic, I wanted to illustrate my professional opinion on advertising and how important it is to touch on all aspects of rhetoric when working on a visual. I also wanted to include this essay rather than my rhetorical narrative paper because I was much more passionate on the topic of analyzing this advertisement. I had much more to talk about within the analysis and found that I also cared about identifying the flaws within the ad more than I did telling a personal story. All the feedback I was given in class was incredibly helpful, as I was able to pick up on what aspects of rhetoric I was lacking in my final draft.…

Also, it’s easy to develop explicit claims for both of the topics. There is a lot of evidence that enhance the credibility of the articles to support the claims I assert. More importantly, the use of counter arguments in the essays shows consideration of both sides. Not just a single sided argument that may create skepticism and confusion.…
