Essay About My Family

Before I get to my story let me give you a little background of how my family is where we are today. My great grandmother Suzie lived with her brother and grandmother in Romania. Suzie’s father went to America for work so he could later move his family there with him. Education has always been a big part of my family for many generations. It started with Suzie’s grandmother (my great great grandmother). Suzie’s grandmother walked Suzie and her brother to school every day and carried them across the big river. When Suzie’s grandmother died she could no longer attend school because she couldn 't get across the river by herself. After a few years had passed Suzie’s dad finally got enough money to bring Suzie and her brother to the United States. …show more content…
They started dating and eventually got married. Their courtship wasn 't easy though. Dorothy 's father didn’t approve of their relationship, so he moved Dorothy to Madison, Tennessee. My grandfather couldn 't stay away though so he followed my grandmother to Madison, Tennessee. They married soon after and had five children one of which is my father, Danny Covrig. My grandparents have the biggest hearts out of anyone you will ever meet, because of this they adopted two children and fostered another. They learned from their parents how important education is so they gave all eight of their children the opportunity to attend a Seventh day Adventist school. Seven of their children attended Highland …show more content…
The chance of them having another sick child was very high. My mom got pregnant again. Despite all of the warning my parents were really excited. When my mom went in for an ultrasound the doctors found out there were two babies. Either my sister or I was hiding for a long time so they found out really late in the pregnancy which was not good. The doctors told my parents that mostly likely only one of us would live. When we were born both of us survived thank goodness! My whole life would be different if my sister wasn’t in it. Since we are twins we go pretty much everywhere together and do just about everything together. We fight all the time and don’t meet eye to eye on a lot of things but I love her to death. I have never had to go anywhere by myself because she is always by my side. We are polar opposites but I think that is what makes us work together. I can encourage her in her hobbies and achievements while she does the same for me. I don’t believe there is a greater bond than between twins because we know everything about each other and have been able to experience just about everything together. I am so happy God paired my up to be a twin with my sister because I don’t think I could have gone through life without

To watch her go through this was devastating because I just wanted her to see how important she was to me and how she was so beautiful. Once she got better I promised myself that I would always be there for those in need because sometimes you just need somebody to cry to and I wish I could have been that for her. Not long after that, we found out my younger brother at the age of 10, was raped by my cousin. We had our cousins staying with us temporarily because my aunt gave birth to one of my other cousins who was born with drugs in her system and CPS wouldn’t allow her to have any of her kids. My brother and my cousin shared a bunk-bed and we came to discover that my cousin had repeatedly raped and touched my brother and made him swear not to tell anybody but when my brother got hurt from it, he came to my mom.…

They took my siblings and I on vacations every year, they took us to school, they were there for every football game, dance recital, chorus concert, graduations, and much more. Sadly my grandmother passed away in October of 2011 at our home on hospice.…
