America is a multicultural country with justice, jobs opportunities and it brings a new life to my family in my opinion. Migration, the world that I’ve never thought when I was young, a brand new experience of it makes me become grateful and have an open mind to a different culture.
My family moved the San Francisco on 13th, January 2010. The reason why we moved to America is because my grandparents have been lived here over a decade. My family followed the way my grandparents did and asked a lot of opinions from others before they made the decision.We looked through the calendar to decide this particular date because we completely set up all we need before we moved. My dad made the decision to move because the weather was bad in the country we lived in, job opportunities were less than America, pollution was everywhere and the country didn’t have a well-rounded health care system. America has a nice better environment to live in, more jobs opportunities and more importantly, America has a better education than the country we lived in.
Things just worked out in the way you imagine. In 2008, China has just been through an economic depression, my dad lost money on the stock and my mom lost her job. I met some friends from Mexico, she just came here at that time, she can explain to me when I tried to get help from her. I knew a lot of different things from her, such as the food they eat, how they celebrated the festival and how to say hello in Spanish, etc. I tried to be open-minded about culture different than mine. I was really struggling with English because I only took a few English classes at my school in China. I think it is a time commitment if you want to learn something, you need to put effort into
