Walt Disney once said, “We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious, and curiosity leads us down new paths.” It’s possible he was never forced to try new things, maybe he never had to move forward without giving any real consent, but it could be that he was never required to become curious and gain new insight on something that he was not curious about. That’s why, I propose to you, Mom and Dad, to move us back to our old city. Comfort is one of the key reasons why we should go back. Being in an environment where you can get a sense of comfort is a major factor in how we perceive ourselves and others. If we were to move back, then I wouldn’t have to worry so much about attempting to not be an outsider or how other people identify me. I understand the people there and they understand me, the comfort I feel there makes me only worry about other things such as school work and how my grades are. Moving back would mean that I don’t have to put my best face on and attempt to understand the people as well as the school …show more content…
While that is true, it doesn’t necessarily mean that living in an area without diversity can cause problems. I have lived all of my life in an area that isn’t exceptionally diverse, but I also have the majority of my life to live in an area that is, and I don’t need to be pushed into an area that I am completely unaware of. When I get older and search for a place to live regarding my career choice, I would love to be in an area that is ethnically diverse so I have learned a respect for other cultures. The area I lived in actually consisted of minorities, most of us being Hispanic or Mexican, and for the few other minorities of people that lived there, they weren’t considered outsiders because we all mutually understood what it was like to be part of the
