A quote from Friar Lawrence from the text states, “Like powder in a skilless soldier's flask/ Is set afire by thine own ignorance/ And thou dismembered with thine own defense” (3.3.132-134). This quote means that Romeo operates without using his brain. From his stubbornness he has many problems thrown at him, such as the death of Tybalt, and the death of his three day wife. If Romeo had made a plan for himself then he would have a more successful marriage. Some of the tragedies that occurred could have been avoided if Romeo had thought through his plans. First, Romeo is to blame for his bad judgment, also his poor choice making. Another thing that he did to throw his life away, was putting his life away to someone else's hands to take care of. Second, Friar Lawrence is to blame for his bad planning skills. Friar should have done more brainstorming.
