I think that lady Macbeth has a high role in Macbeths downfall. This can be showed by many different reasons with one being her taking control of the situation when things are about to go wrong or when Macbeth decides to go against her plan. A quote to show this is lady Macbeth saying "Look like the flower, but be the serpent under it" this basically shows that she wants Macbeth to be/act normal whilst also going along with her scheme which puts many to terror. this also shows that lady Macbeth is eager for Macbeth to get the crown and that she can get fame/rich. Macbeth refuses to go along with the scheme many times such as when he says “we will proceed no further in this business: He has honoured me of late, and I have bought golden opinions from all sorts of people, Which would be whom how I’m their newest gloss, Not cast aside so soon”. In this phrase Macbeth says the many reasons he does not want to commit this act. So this shows that lady Macbeth does have a high role in Macbeths downfall because if she hadn’t persuaded him when he didn’t want to go along with the scheme, Macbeth wouldn’t have done it and it might have not ended the way it did.
