The good side of Greek life is how they benefit society in ways no individual could and mold their members into new people. All throughout the year, there are campus events that fraternities and sororities host for a good cause. Most of these events raise awareness for those in need and try to help them. I actually went to one recently which raised awareness for Wilson’s disease. “Wilson's disease is a rare inherited disorder that causes too much copper to accumulate in your liver, brain and other vital organs possibly to a life-threatening level (mayoclinic).” A fraternity member’s sister was diagnosed with Wilson’s disease a few years ago, so they made a tradition to host an event every year in order to raise awareness for this disease. Besides contributing to the benefit of society, Greek members are expected to meet a minimum grade point average in order to stay in the organization. If a member is struggling, they can easily ask another brother or sister to help them with their school work. This allows them to excel academically. Greek members are also mentally prepared for challenges that they will face in the future by going through the widely controversial process of
