Senior year is all about deciding what one wants to do in the future, what major the individual will study, but most importantly what college one is going to attend. A local community college or go big and go to a university. Is the college going to be near home, a couple hours away, or even in a completely different state. People need to know the effects of going to college out of state to know the challenges to expect. Finally, being away from home and family for a while will make them homesick. As soon as colleges start recruiting most students want to get as far away as they can from their hometowns and family as they can. To get away from parents, siblings, friends, and even town drama. This is a must need, but when going to college out of state reality hits like a bus after a while. There is no I can go home this weekend or even rely on parents to be their for everything. The student does become more independent the hard way. By being thrown out in the real world and being expect to know what to do. They soon start to get homesick missing what the students left for in the first place. Hard to think they would miss their hometown when they swore they would never miss that place at all. Students need to know there will be challenges going to college out of state. The college experience is not all going to be a smooth ride there is going to be effects.
