Americans today are becoming more reliable on the technology that is steadily growing in the society today. Americans are becoming even more lazy and dependent on other things to help them strive for something that they want. Such as getting healthy and being more active. Devices like “Fitbit” are a technology that helps with seeing how many steps we take, our sleeping patterns and making sure we are being active every hour. But how many people are actually using their device after they purchase it.
Fitbit and other active technology were made to help people participate in more active and healthy routines. On March 31, Patrick Seitz Article states “Fitbit had sold 20.8 million devices and reported that 19 million registered users, however, they counted only 9.5 million “active users.” Which concludes about 50% of sold Fitbits were being used.
Many Fitbit devices end up in junk drawers in houses or people still wear them, but not so it can calculate the number of steps they take. Fitbit is also made with, a silent alarm and come with many different bands that are colorful and just look just right with their outfit.
