Essay About Being A Lifeguard

Some people may think that being a lifeguard is really unnecessary. In reality, the occupation of a lifeguard is very important. They need to sit on a chair for an extensive amount of time watching people swim in a pool or beach, making sure everyone is safe. They play a key role in ensuring swimmers are safe and away from harm.I am interested in this occupation as in my opinion, the job of a lifeguard is similar to that of a police but in the water. They protect swimmers and solve problems. I want to be seen as reliable to others just like they do.

However, I did not start as being interested in becoming a lifeguard from the start. At first, I disliked swimming since all we did was laps and laps of front crawl or back crawl; the first two swimming techniques I have learned. Later on, I learned many other ways of swimming and also learned CPR and first aid. This was when I really started to became interested. In my learning of first aid and CPR, we had scenarios and learned emergency rescues. At times, I found myself acting as a victim or a rescuer. In all of these moments, I found a passion for swimming and lifesaving. For a job where I can do what I like to do and get a really good pay for it, I find being a lifeguard or swimming

So far, I am at the Bronze Cross stage of this process. Also, to become a lifeguard, I will have to be at least 16 years old. From where I am currently to where I want to be, it will take at least 4 years. For me to earn a job, for me, this is considered a very short amount of time. In four years, it is possible that I will become a national lifeguard. However, that will only be the start. There is always room for improvement and that includes this as well. After reaching the status of a national lifeguard, the ranks ahead of me would be an Patrol Rider and Aquatic
