Essay About Baseball Qualities

It was game day and all I could hear from the right of my ear was “STRIKE HIM OUT!!!” My left I could feel every stomp and scream run through my body like if it was about to explode. As I release the last pitch of the game I could see the batter looking at the ball as if it was a fireball coming right at him. Once that ball hit the glove I could smell the burnt wood from the bat missing the ball by inches. My teammates were running toward me and screaming at the top of their lungs. In the game of baseball most people learn many different qualities in life. One of those qualities is how to be a leader on and off the field. Leadership is not given to certain people. I went through blood, sweat, and tears to get respect from my team. Being respect by my colleagues has earned me captain of the squad. As a captain I have a lot responsibility, whether it is keeping everyone on the same page or making sure they have a ride to the game. The most important thing in playing ball is to always be in a professional mind-set. I remembered like two years ago we were playing in Daytona, Florida against the Blue Stars. It felt like a normal bright sunny day, bird chirped, and parents cheered for their son. One particular person in the bleacher stood out to me. He was wearing a Cardinals hat and matching. This person was the pitching coach for the St Louis Cardinals; he was scouting our team out. My coach told me before the game there was going to be a person out here looking at our team. Me as the captain told the team to play their hearts out because we had a special guess in the stand. The game I love has taught me to frequently be in a professional
