Drinking Alcohol: Perverse Effects On The Body

Drinking alcohol has such a perverse affect on the mind and on the body. A man cannot serve God the way he should when he is under the influence of the drink. A father cannot be the father he is supposed to be when he is intoxicated. A man who was once thought of as a gentleman will ruin his testimony and be known as a perverted person once he allows alcohol to take over his life. Very clearly, alcohol will ruin the Christian’s life the moment the drink touches his lips. I will give you a few reasons why I believe it is wrong for a Christian to be involved with alcohol in any way whatsoever.
The first reason a Christian should abstain from alcohol is because of the command against it. Proverbs 23:31 says, “Look not thou upon the wine when …show more content…
Deuteronomy 5:33 says, “Ye shall walk in all the ways which the Lord your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess.” No man can have the relationship he ought to have with God when he is involved in such sin. To live the life of a drunkard is to be separated from God, and a Christian cannot function in life without walking with the Lord. A man who is separated from God will never be successful in this life. His life will inevitably be destroyed, should he choose to be held tight to the chains of alcohol, rather than choosing freedom from the chains of sin by giving his life to God.
Christian, I beg you; do not become enslaved to alcohol! Do not look at it, do not touch it; make every effort to rid any traces of it from your life. Alcohol will appear to be glorious from afar, but when seen up close for what it truly is, it will become evident how truly horrible it is. Drinking alcohol will ruin your life, ruin the lives of your family and close friends, and hurt any and all other people who look to you for leadership. The choice is yours: will you choose to drown your life in sin, or will you choose to forsake the drink and give your life to
