Being a healthcare assistant taught me to prioritize and be flexible in my work due to unpredictable nature of job. I have enjoyed the fact that no two shifts were the same and look forward for this challenge in midwifery.

`Journal of a student midwife`, `Myles textbook for midwives`, SMNET and MIDIRS website helped me develop a better understanding about this career not only that is rewarding but also physically and emotionally demanding. One of my specialist subject interest is `Language barriers and their effect on outcomes`, as a lot of women does not speak English. Birthright organisation stated that language barriers can lead to a poorer quality care and are challenging for the healthcare professionals.
