He was special because his mind developed slowly and rarely remembered things. Along with him was his friend George, they only had each other so they were always together. Due to Lennie peeking under a girls dress not knowing what he was doing they decided to leave because the girl gave a scream alarming George what was going on. They left from weed and went to the wood to hide. They went to look for a job and George always reminded Lennie to go back to the bush and hide until George goes out to find him. Lennie depends on George and they both want to earn money to buy a farm. Lennie loves small animals and tells George he wants animals when they live together. Esperanza is unhappy for not having a house in the hills, Mathilde Loisel is ungrateful for being in middle class, and finally Lennie doesn't care what socioeconomic class he's in he just wants to be happy and live in a house with his friend George. All three characters were from a book we have read and they all struggle with socioeconomic lifestyle. They all had opportunities to take like Esperanza could have been happy the whole book if she would have appreciated the house her parents bought instead of being unmindful, Mathilde Loisel could have just gone to the ball with the clothes she had and no jewelry despite what other people said. Compared to Lennie, he appreciated what he had even though he didn't really know what he was doing
