Esfj Characteristics

According to 16 personalities I am an ESFJ or “The Consul,” indicating that I am a social creature, and thrive on staying up to date with what my friends are doing. Consequently, one thing that ESFJ’s are known for is their self-motivated responsibility to help in any role that benefits them in a meaningful way. I would agree with this as I often enjoy helping others achieve their goals. For example, I have tutored middle school students and have assisted students with their homework during their study hall periods. Having the ability to see the joy and delight on those middle school students faces when they finally understand a concept or have done well on a test brings me gratification, as I recognize the time I spend serving does play a role in the those students lives. Another ESFJ attribute that I found similar to my own was the tendency to be sensitive to criticism and rejections. Personally, I could care less about my social status as I value having a small group of close friends who I can trust and rely on rather than a large amount of friends that I barely know and cannot depend on. In addition to only caring about social status, ESFJ’s bread and butter is gossip. This is another personality trait that I do not share with the ESFJ personality type, as I have experienced being gossiped about and it isn’t the most pleasurable experience. Preferring not to put others down with spiteful and hurtful words I choose to instead encourage others by avoiding

Service is something I’d like more opportunities for. It makes me happy whenever I can help someone else. I’ve had many experiences with service in my life, including times where I’d go to Bailey Place, a senior center and interact with those there, or when I’m helping my parents by taking care of my sister for them. Personal leadership / management style analysis During my first few weeks in the field experience course, I have noticed the complexity of leadership and management that is involved in the work field. Both, a leader and a manager are very important people in an organization. According to Collins (2001), managers and leaders “exist in different forms, roles and responsibilities”; as a result, Five Level Hierarchy exists, where level one has highly capable individuals, two is contributing team member, three is competent manager, four is an effective leader, and finally five is an executive. A great leader must be an effective communicator in order to lead a group of people in order to accomplish a goal or vision.…
