Nikola Tesla was a Serbian American. His grandfather, Duka Tesla had much talent for creativity. Nikola admired Duka's memory which was passed down through genetics from his mother. Tesla was intelligent. He performed integral calculus in his head, in which his teachers thought he was a cheater. He finished a 4 year term through 3 years at a university. At this time, Tesla’s father, Mulitin, knew his son was a scholar. Tesla was asked to make a catalogue for the library for the books they had in possession. To continue his education, Tesla moved to Karlovac to attend the Higher Real Gymnasium where he studied language and mathematics. Later, Mulitin, asked for Tesla not to return Gospic, Croatia because of an illness that was spreading

He slowly became better and stood up which was miraculous to the doctors. After he returned, there was a war breakout with the Turks, Tesla was asked to draft in the military. If he did not accept, then he was going to receive jail time plus the 3 years of military. As time went by his father did not want him to draft into the military so he told Tesla to escape to the mountains to improve his health from the illness. Being in the wilderness, it made him stronger physically and mentally. While he was out in the wilderness he experimented with “hidden trigger mechanisms capable of unleashing great reservoirs of energy”. He enrolled at Austrian Polytechnic with his cousins sending him money, in which he eventually gambled away and thought he could have become a billiards player. His cousins took away the aid. Nikola was making decisions for himself because his ego was quite large. He was afraid his parents would find out so he disappeared to distant family members. His father found out and offered him to start fresh at a new university because he never graduated the last semester.
