There is one particular experience that outweighs the rest, my father draped a cloth over my head after a restless day of training then tied my arms and feet with a rigid rope. Regardless, of all my efforts to escape it was futile to attempt to protest my kidnapping. Then, he dragged me into the tub drowning me in intervals for 5 minutes lifting my head up every so often to hear my gasping breaths gurgling the water under the cloth. I hear laughter as my vision begins to blur and blackness encloses in my midnight blue eyes eventually, he pulls the fabric from my face then I face my attacker shockingly my father wears a grim expression of amusement. He says to me, “Son, Adonis you made it too easy for your old man to snatch you at your most …show more content…

I chose the most logical path to shut down the operation by first gunning the cameras on each floor with two automatic guns, grabbing one of the undaunted traitors in a chokehold as a shield from the gunfire, then I dispose of him once the undaunted man has been shot carrying his weight will slow me down. As one of the undaunted traitors approach me with a revolver I realize I’m out of ammunition so I grab the gun holstered around the hostages waist then slide on the floor in less than a second and shoot my target in the head. I watch as his body slumps to the ground surging with a pool of blood soaking his shirt with a stained deep red. I proceed to the next floor where the pathway to the control room is clear but, I remain vigilant and alert listening for any evidence of noise that indicates movements inside the room before

So, the airplane with the men still aboard returned immediately to Langley, and they returned home to Montana with the hostages still in Iran. But, it wasn’t until April 26th while watching the evening news; they realized why the CIA canceled their mission because as the broadcast continued they discovered an RH-53 helicopter struck the vertical stabilizer of an EC-130’s with its main rotor and crashed into the plane’s wing and the ensuing explosion killed eight servicemen. These positive features of building 1143 are important for all individuals to know and could result in lives saved, however, the layout also presents a complex challenge to mitigate or deter an active shooter threat. The plans were already in motions, pawns moving to proper place - it would not be too long before the bright future began. Now, there were some problems. One of them was convincing other mages from his homeland that this course of action was for the best. They had grown weak and soft over the years and the ones that were too idealistic and naive grasped enough power to have their voice heard.…

We were all taught that justice is supposed to be blind, otherwise it's not actually justice. Yet where you live at, and what you look like can determine if you are going to live or die. The fact that where you commit a crime can play just as big of a role as the nature of the crime itself is sickening. You might get a conviction for 40 years in one country and sentenced to the death penalty in the country right next door. Many states that make up a large percentage of death sentences include Ohio, Indiana, California, and Florida.…

Many scientists such as Stanley Milgram, Erich Fromm, Lee Ross and Richard E. Nisbett have tested their theory of obedience to authority. Their findings might frighten people on how obedient people are and what the sick and twisted things people will do. An example of obedience to authority is the writing of this paper for Doctor Campbell, if not done properly with obedience the grade of the student will plummet. Another example of people listening to orders given by an authoritarian person that inflicted pain, suffering, and even death is the Holocaust; the Holocaust was set up by Adolf Hitler and Nazi officers in concentration camps. The Nazi officers were told to run these concentration camps filled with innocent people and to exterminate…

Created in 1981 by Hilary Putnam the Brain in a Vat theory is about a science fiction possibility of our brains quite literally being in a vat. Hilary Putnam uses referencing or representation, the Turing Test, the rules of language and a host of examples to establish that the statement “we are brains in a vat” is a self-refuting statement. He asks the question “Could we, if we were brains in a vat in this way, say or think that we were?” (Putnam 1981, p7) and comes to the conclusion that we couldn’t be. He proves his argument by focusing on the concept of referencing by saying that people whose brains are in a vat cannot think or refer to what we (people who are not in the vat world) can refer to.…

Alan Silva Professor Gloria Bennett English1102 November 27,2016 Not All Things Heal with Time Some of the most painful injuries are not always visible; in fact, some of the most life debilitating injuries are the ones that cannot be seen, for they are the ones forever etched into the psyche. Depression, anger, fear, hopelessness, and isolation: these represent the gloomy colors that PTSD has chosen to carve into the canvas that is a victim’s mind using the stiff bristles of trauma. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a mental condition or injury that maims soldiers and civilians alike who have been dealt a bad hand in life and had to endure emotionally intense situations.…
