1. While reading Ericsson essay she tells us that as a society we constantly lie. One of the lies she says we tell are white lies, which people believed it’s the best option since they think it would cause less damage. Another lie is facade, describing it as a person putting a different identity to impress someone or to get the job. Deflecting is one of the lies she says we usually use to not talk about a certain topic. For instance if a person is changing the topic it necessarily means that they are trying to avoid the question.
2. Ecrisson says that a white lie is the one we believe is the best option. One tells a white lie when talking about a friend and asked if she is fat or skinny. A white lie is a harmless truth which wont cause any damage to ones friendship. She says that person who says a white lie to a friend determines if they a capable of hearing the truth and doesn’t let them make their own decision.

Facades are a destructive form of lying because it’s like wearing a different mask on your face and letting the world perceive you as a different person. When someone discovers your true identity their trust in you will be completely gone and they would feel betrayed. Life for instance, when Ecrisson says she sits on the computer wearing pajamas and when the door bell rings the callers believes that shes wearing a suit since she is a writer but the ups man knows what she really is wearing than a suit.
