In order for companies to make greater profits, they use a form of marketing appeal to persuade to their audience. To grab their consumer attention they used different type of advertisement appeals. It’s clear that advertiser uses sex to sell their products. This marketing strategy has been used for centuries and doesn’t plan on slowing down any time soon. These bring us to a topic on erotic and pornography. Advertisement companies will use erotic images or pornography images to sell their products. Both erotic and pornography is about sex but there is a difference between the two themes.

It’s intended to stimulate sexual desire rather than rather than emotional feelings. “Basically pornography is using the female to satisfy the male audience. For feminists, pornography is an area designed exclusively for the male gender, which under its auspices can enjoy the female fetish model that embodies both desire and difference” (Schussler, A. 2013). Pornographic films or images show men’s power over women. Unlike erotic, the feelings are absence which means that pornography is not about love between two people but about two bodies having casual sex for excitement. “Pornography is violent, depicting and endorsing sexual violence” (Fisher and Barak 1991). Turn on the television, open magazine, surf the web, or simply looking at billboard advertisement on side of the road one will see the sexual objectification of women. The society is the one to blame. Our society as a whole teaches us how to think, act and feel. It’s no secret many things in our society are geared toward the male gender population.
