Sexuality is an important aspect of human growth and individuals should explore their sexual fantasies and desires within the appropriate cultural norms. Individual should also become aware of sexuality from a historical perspective and the many different forms of sexual acts and behaviors. Modern day society has largely stigmatized sexuality, and many specific rules exist as barriers. Although, one individual cannot change society at large and the norms within it. A therapist must strive to help others understand truly how diverse sexuality is, and for this reason, I would persuade and recommend a client to visit the erotic art museum. The purpose of visiting the museum is not only for a culturally rich and historical perspective, but it enables the individual to feel safe within the limits of their desire. Exploring such an uncommon museum lifts the shame and guilt that so many individuals may feel towards sex. At the same time, any anxiety surrounding sexuality transforms into relieve. Individuals who visit the museum may be more likely to maneuver future sexual experiences and feel at ease. Personally, the lectures have taught me that sexuality varies within many factors. Factors range from the historical periods of evolution to sexual diversity such as individuals sexual identity and orientation. Also, the diversity in sexual desires, fantasies, and behaviors was discussed and has aided in my core understanding of sexual disorders. The book by Daniel Bergner, "The Other Side of Desire" put into perspective cases of individuals that may be presented in the future. Thus, the course has encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and analyze psychological issues. It has also motivated me as a therapist in understanding that issues the patient may present may conflict with my personal, cultural norms. Like a good therapist, I must put all judgment aside and focus fundamentally on helping the patient by relieving them from distress. Consequently, I have evolved into a more experienced and open-minded individual, and thus, I feel like I would be able to take on certain cases. For example, people such as Jacob, the Baroness, and Ron. Thanks to the videos and discussions in the course I see sexual issues from a different perspective. Overall, humans are born as sexual creatures it is a pity that some individuals pulverize this natural gift instead of embracing their inner
