After high school some people find love. Demonstrated in the story entitled “The Crush.” It starts off with a mentally troubled man named Ernie. And he has a crush on a woman named Dolores. In the story it shows Ernie was filling the mason jars with flowers and putting them on the counter of the place she works. This shows how hard it is to show your feelings.
It also shows why Ernie did not go to the store and give Dolores them. Look out of the diner window and see Dolores pick up the flowers. This also shows that Ernie is very caring. He planted those flowers and waited for them to grow, just for Dolores. I’m sure if I would have to have a crush I would do the same thing. Like planting flowers or doing other things.
