Ernesto Zedillo Ponce de León, was President of Mexico from 1994-2000. To many Mexicans during his leadership he was a hero. This was because Zedillo did not perpetuate the PRI. Before winning the Presidency in 1994 Zedillo was not even in the running to become President of Mexico. That man was Luis Donaldo Colosio Murrieta.
