Introduction
The author Dennis Perkins uses British explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton to show transformational leadership by displaying how he saved his crew from the Antarctic after a shipwreck in 1914 they were on. He uses Shackleton’s voyage to demonstration how being in charge of a stressful situation a person can still apply leadership skills through difficult times, even at sea in Antarctica. Shackleton brave behavior led his entire crew to safety no matter the risk through frozen ice, and bad weather to seek out rescue. He also, stayed focused on the real goal at hand going back and saving the rest of his crew. Set a noticeable outstanding cyphers and actions to be positive, confidence, and firm in what is real by knowing your reality. Let go of past mistakes and hurt they only keep you from achieving your goal and draw you away from reality. Be determined it helps reinforce the team effort by always assisting others. Be courtesy and show respect for yourself and others when you lead by example. Master conflict struggles it helps get you thought tough times by knowing your worth. Celebrate and laugh it keeps the heart happy especially being a risk taker. Never stop trying because there is always room for something new in life.
The Book
Reading the book Leading at the Edge I have learned concepts that can be used in leadership and organizational management to assist at mastering conflicts with people, minimizing differences in difficult situations, and helping people reach their full potential in setting goals and staying focused to achieve them. If these strategy principles were applied they would most likely help to derail negative influence in our lives.
