Ernest Just was an African American biologist and an educator best known for his pioneering work in physiology, and fertilization. Born August 14, 1883 in Charleston, South Carolina. Studied at Kimball Hall Academy before enrolling at Dartmouth college. He had a interest in biology and read papers on fertilization and egg development. He received very good grades, and he got the highest grade in Greek in his freshman year.
