Tragedies End With Great Beginnings Leaders influence the world. Leadership abilities are needed in all walks of life, including the literary world. These types of leaders are mapping out the future. Three of the best authors of all time were Ernest Hemingway, Karl Marx, and Edgar Allan Poe. These three leaders are charismatic, influential, and courageous. Being charismatic is being able to exercise a compelling charm that inspires devotion in others. “The story of his aesthetics, the shape of his literary career is both triumphant and tragic.” (lili.org) Many others have tried to imitate Ernest Hemingway’s aesthetic style and have failed. Hemingway got his literary beginning being a foreign correspondent during World War I. most of his writings were based on World War I and World War II such as A Farewell to Arms. “A man like Hemingway writes a sentence. His creative talents led to the beginning of different literary genres, earning him the nickname “Father of the Detective Story” among other distinctions.” (Biography.com) Poe became a literary sensation in 1845 with the poem “The Raven” which was influenced by the death of his wife. Poe lost his family at a very young age, and was estranged from his adoptive family in his mid-teens. Through all of his personal tragedies Poe continued to courageously write.
