Erin Caffey Case Summary

After Summarizing this report on Erin Caffey, I noticed that she was only sixteen when the crime occurred. With a relationship that was her first true infatuation causing her and her parents to be on opposite ends. Most teens go through parents disproving of their relationship which is normal, usually the teens end the relationship or continue the relationship secretly without the attempt to kill their family. This case was a little different, after the last disapproval received by Erin’s parents, the plan that Charlie and Erin conspired together would finally be exposed. Before the incident Erin was devoted to church, family and homeschool, many around the neighborhood would say that Erin’s parents were overly protective. According to Pamela (2009), “Erin and her brothers had initially enrolled in their new public schools; Then, that fall, an incident at the junior high had upset Terry and Penny: A girl who had been showing interest in Erin had kissed her in the hallway. …show more content…
Charlie showed interest to Erin and was an instant turn off for her parents. They met as she was delivering his food to him at sonics. “Instant vibe,” he said, snapping his fingers.”(2009) Charlie was a typical Hillbilly that had attachment problems growing up causing him to engage in negative activity. Though he never had prior conflicts with the law, he definitely was a real hothead. Overtime the Caffey’s were growing less and less found of Charlie limiting his visits to one a week limiting the conversations and even grounding Erin for breaking curfew. According to Pamela (2009), ” Killing her parents, Erin told Charlie, was their best
