Biopsychosocial Interview Research Paper

Introduction The person I interviewed for this paper was my father. My dad’s name is Mark and he is 53 years old which makes him in the generativity vs. stagnation stage according to Erikson. My Erikson stage is identity vs. role confusion, so we are not in the same stage. He currently lives in Garland, Texas, which is about 40 minutes outside of Dallas. The interview was held at my mom’s house in Wylie, Texas on a Friday evening. Mark has no job and hasn’t held a job in over five years. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and from there lived in four other states including: Washington, Texas, Missouri, and New Mexico. He got his high school diploma from a school in New Mexico and did not go on to college. Right now he lives with his one of his daughters and her husband and son. He has six daughters and is divorced to their mother.
Normative age-graded life influences Normative age-graded influences are life events that are typical and based on chronological age. The market was expanding so things could be more expensive. While growing up he didn’t have a lot of money so he couldn’t move into one of the many suburb areas that were being built. What impacted him most was the anxiety the United Stated created during the Cold War. He explained how the media and adults created fear over the war. He said he never felt safe during this time and he never knew when the bombs would come. He explained that everyone made it seem like they were dying and they constantly had drills to duck and cover.
