When Joey’s brother died, Paul shared the sadness with Joey. So when Paul asked Joey to transfer, it’d make sense. However, Joey already had a hard time from his brother’s death, and people were being cruel about it. So for people to suddenly just lash out at him all of a sudden, it’s understandable for Joey to be angry. Joey enrolling into Lake Windsor is a good thing since Joey can’t handle the new pressure, and his burden. So to prevent any ugly fights, it's good that Joey transferred back. If Erik didn’t hit Luis, pretty much Paul wouldn’t develop. He would still stay as a coward, and wouldn’t know the truth.
