Erik and Lyle Menendez were both molested by their domineering father Jose Menendez. Erik being sensitive and shy, the pressure took a toll on him and he developed stomach pains, stuttering, and habitual teeth-grinding. Between the ages of 6 and 8 Jose molested Lyle making him afraid to sleep at night because he thought that his father was going to come in and molest him, his mother also bathed him and slept with him. The pressure took a toll on Lyle, who developed a bed-wetting problem at the age of 14 and suffered from insomnia. He also came to have a fierce temper. Summer 1988 Erik and Lyle both began robbing their friends’ parents, they would break into the homes to take money and jewelry. It was later estimated that they stole in excess
