Eric Monacelli Case Study

i. Eric Monacelli has an honest upbringing and has the personality typical of gamers. It can be easily seen why he excels in the public relations field with his easy going personality and is easy to talk to. He was born August 31st and has a wide variety of interests including: art, movies, music, video, literature, Iron Man, guitars, dogs, and most importantly baseball. On top of that Eric is a space fanatic and loves many aspects of space. He also has a wife and a son. In addition he has a love for videogames which led him to his successful career in the field.
II. Education
i. Eric has been to a few different universities in his educational background. He went to Fordham University for education, there was a experiential teaching fellowship at the school. A great thing about being in the gaming industry is the culture of the gamers. A part of the gaming industry is that everyone is really passionate about the games that they play and so the community is really inclusive. Another really cool part about working with videogame is the connection with the fan base of the multiple games. A story he shared was about a letter a fan sent to the company. In one of the games they produced, called Uncharted they had a character who came out as gay in the storyline. The fan wrote a letter saying that through playing the storyline and seeing the courage the character had by coming out to the other characters that they had the courage to come out in real life to their families and friends. Also, fans like to send in various fan art of the games produced and Eric mentioned how cool it was to see the fans take on their own image of the characters in a game. Lastly, when going to conventions when promoting a new game Eric expressed how exciting it was to see the fans anticipation and excitement for the games coming
