Furthermore, Chariots of Fire offers many examples of Eric Liddell’s servant heart and passion to serve God. For instance, when discussing Olympics vs. ministry in China immediately, Eric tells his sister he “feels God’s pleasure” when he runs and that’s why he wishes to compete in the Olympics. Also, there are many instances in the movie that point back to the fact Eric runs for God, not himself. In addition to having a servant’s attitude, Eric also has a heart for ministry. First of all, Eric tells his sister that once he completes his task at hand he will continue his missionary work in China.
