In Eric Klinenberg’s Going Solo, Klinenberg focuses on how more people are starting to live alone instead of living with roommates. Going Solo talks about how as the years go on, living alone is becoming more prevalent in American society and American society is becoming more accepting of people who are living alone. Today living alone can be considered as a sign of success because it means that you are able to provide for yourself despite having one source of income. In Going Solo, Eric Klinenberg focuses on the solo living of young adults, middle aged, and the elderly. As the years go on, people living alone is becoming more prevalent in society and American society is becoming more accepting of people living alone. Living solo has not only become popular in the United States, it has become popular in countries such as Sweden, Norway, Germany, and the Neverlands. Females are more likely to live alone than males and people ages 65 and older are more likely to live alone than people who are ages 64 and below. Elderly females over the age of 65 are more likely to live alone than males over the age of 65 because they they tend to live longer than their spouse. I agree with Eric Klinenberg’s viewpoint because more people are starting to live alone because they are continuing their education after high school. I would recommend the book Going Solo to others because it is about an interesting read and talks about how society is
