These goals or objectives are set by the management team for the running and operation of a company and thus, strategy thinking could affect the designing and execution of a strategy. Non-management team members also have their own goals as employees of a company, thereby, affecting the way, they perceive strategic thinking. Liedtka (1998). Liedtka (1998) suggests that an organisation should consider both the past and the future in planning policies and implementation. Furthermore, lesson learnt from a previous strategic formulation and integration should be applied to the new policy formed to further enhance it. Eramosa Engineering always thinks about them in reference to it is designing and implementation of its strategy (Hallas, 2017). For instance, Hallas (2017), the current president of Eramosa Engineering analysed that he considered them as a strategic tool during one of their policy review on mileage. He made sure that some major criteria in the policy were not removed to keep it viable for all their members of staff. The criteria were that mileage will be reimbursed equally irrespective of the position of the team member and the distance to be reimbursed would be from one point to …show more content…
According to Mintzberg and Waters (1985, pp. 270), planned strategy was described as an articulated, and precise plan. Here the plan or strategy has a laid down process and procedure. Most of times, the management team of an enterprise defines the deliberate strategy for their firms. The Eramosa Engineering’s management team have applied the deliberate strategy to its day-to-day operation and management of the company. For instance, onset of Eramosa Engineering, the pioneer management team, which was made up of Tim Sutherns and Scott Taylor (http://eramosa.com/dev2017/about/how-we-work/history, no date) formulated the initial plans and strategy on what they want to achieve. These plans and strategies are what developed to Eramosa Engineering core value of “Fun, Initiative, Technical Excellence, and Trust” (http://eramosa.com/services, no date) as explained by Sutherns (2017). According to Sutherns (2017) have been their building block for the past 18 years of the company’s establishment. Furthermore, they have continued to enhance the above-mentioned core value with the view of adding more value to the company’s operation (Sutherns 2017).
