Eragon Movie Vs Book

Improved Essays
As a student, I am better at reading rather than a writing, or listening. I am more interested in fantasy books due the adventurous vibes it gives you while reading. The first fantasy book I read was, Eragon, written by, Christopher Paolini. This book was absolutely phenomenal just like the rest of fantasy related books. This is because not only the character development was great, but the story actually gives you enough detail to visualize the background sequence of the tale. I rejoice in listening to random soundtracks while reading, because it gives you more visual details about what is going on in the books. My weakness as a reader is in nonfictional textbooks. I say that because most of the time textbooks do not properly give you stories instead everything is packed with facts, statistics, graphs, and pictures which takes out the fun to brainstorm some ideas in my mind. …show more content…
Reading a book is fun, but sometimes the movie gives you a better explanation about what is going on throughout the story. Watching movies definitely inspires me to write down short stories as well. Topics I like to cover as a writer is to write a short story related to mystery, so I can test my brain whether I can solve it or not, it just gives you more ideas to write each time you can freely make your own stories. My strengths as a writer is how my brain just continues to give me ideas, sentences after sentences, I sometimes do not even have to think before writing because my fingers are used to writing. Aside from my grammar issues, I have a tendency to use poor word choices in my writing essays which frustrates me as a writer. I want to improve my word choices so the reader can read my work more fluently, and if I somehow manage that, it will make me successful as a writer. I do hope to become a successful writer, which is something that is important to

I’ve noticed some of my paragraphs have more words than needed; in order to reach my goal, I need to read through my paragraphs and alter--or even get rid of--words. Convention errors and run on sentence affect fluency. Shorter sentences may help the fluency of my paragraphs. Another intention I have for my writing is to increase my vocabulary.…

To say that I am a reader would be a stretch. I can not remember the last time I picked up a book for my own personal pleasure. Some would say that should bother me, but I can’t agree with the reasoning behind it. Mostly people bring up how books have broadened their horizons and changed their way of thinking, which is something I can’t relate to. Instead, I would say that I agree with what a good book should do, but I can‘t say I have found a good book, or a page turner if you will.…

Since beginning this course, I have been resistant. Ever since Jr. High it has been hard for me to keep a book long enough to stay interested. One way i get involved with the characters is by comparing him/her to me. If not to me, I compare them to other characters. Once you find similarities or differences, it is easier to get intrigued in your book.…

It’s interesting, really, to see some of my old papers from middle and high school. I look back and laugh at the time, maybe around the third grade, when my classmates and I would groan and complain about having to write an ENTIRE PARAGRAPH. Now, after years of writing significantly longer academic papers that stretch far beyond a simple paragraph, my style and the depth of my topics have evolved based on what I’ve read. The most important pastime for anyone who wishes to write, unsurprisingly, is to read a wide variety of material, starting at a young age. Studies have shown that children who read more than their peers exhibit a larger vocabulary as well as more complex writing styles.…

In the quote by Christopher Columbus he states “By prevailing over all obstacles and distractions, one may unfailingly arrive at his chosen goal or destination” I thought this quote pertained to me because I know this year there are going to be many obstacles in English class, but if I just push myself I know I can reach my goal. As a reader and writer, I believe that I have grown stronger over the years. In the past, I did not like reading at all I would try to get by with reading as little of the stories as possible in order to pass. I felt this way until this summer when I started to read the books for English.…

Literature enthralls me, and by the power that the words have on one’s imagination and emotions. Literature captivates the potential to evoke one’s imagination and inspire creativity in anyone who starts to breathe in the precious words. Maya Angelou has the perfect quote to summarize how I feel about the power of literature and reading, “When I look back, I am so impressed again with the life-giving power of literature.…
