When he left his community, Equality gave up his friendly relations. Left behind were those that he worked with such as International, one of Equality’s best friends, and Union, who was familiar to Equality even though not as well liked by Equality. He also would have surrendered his relationship with the Golden One, if she hadn’t followed him into the Uncharted Forest in the first place. These relationships were very important to Equality, they may have even been the only things that kept him sane in such a controlled world. His want for freedom and individuality outweighed his high regard for his peers, and his actions showed that. He knew that if he relinquished these familiar people, he would be able to cultivate his newfound love of knowledge and wisdom, and he would eventually become very wise.
