Introduction
People have wondered why women have the same rights as men. People have wondered why Hillary Clinton is the first female presidential candidate. The answer to this question is the actions Susan B. Anthony, the activist, pleaded for our country. Without her courageous acts, us ladies would’ve been living in a time period where women did not have any opinion that would matter in a political situation and men made all the decisions. As she said, “ Men, their rights, and nothing more; women, their rights, and nothing less.” Susan B. Anthony is undeniably courageous because she’s persevered through hard times, she’s respectfully gone through fights with the public, and she was disciplined in her ongoing battle for equal rights.
Perseverance
Including a fact, perseverance means “steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc., especially in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement.”. In eighth grade understandings, it means to keep going and not give up. Susan B. Anthony did not let anything stand in her way from her goal. Anthony was a great activist whose personality was made up of perseverance, respect, and discipline. No one can ever say that she was effortless and careless. Previously, proved throughout this whole essay that without Susan B. Anthony, our country and laws would have been ruled by just men. Luckily, we live in an era where we don’t have this particular situation. It’s upsured to even think that she didn’t dedicate her life to this.
