I am basing my opinon on the aspects of race, gender, social background, and etc. America, has come a long way from the way equality use to be portrayed. Nevertheless, I feel there will never be complete equality in our country. I believe minority races will still have to put forth more effort than majority races, women will have to put forth more effort than men, and the poor more effort than the rich. I have given my meaning of equality. However, equality could be interpreted differently to others. Equality was a big issue, during the time the 14th Amendment was put in place. It was brought into play shortly after the Civil War. It was, in my opinion, just a flicker in the flame of equality. However, it did set the course towards the way we live in America now. Sometimes, I still wander would we have made this much progress without the 14th Amendment being ratified.
