This is mostly due to law enforcements such as the 2010 equality act which put all laws that aim to stop discrimination together in one piece of legislation. This helped to make the laws stronger in some areas, so depending on circumstances the act may help to protect and recognise where people are not being treated equally. Due to a highly diverse society, acting sensitively and appropriately to this diversity is very important, especially in the health and social care sector as this includes caring for less able and more vulnerable people who may not recognise when they 're being discriminated against or act upon it. Using the 6 C’s when dealing with an individual is very important as it shows that you’re treating them like you would any other person. Not giving a person equal care as you would another is discriminating against that person and will cause them to feel less than others. If a person has conditions that may cause them to be more vulnerable than others, caring for them appropriately and properly is key to preventing discrimination as indirect discrimination may sometimes occur because they could struggle to say how they feel and show their
