The Equal Pay Act employees the right to be free from discrimination in their compensation is protected under several federal laws, including the following enforced by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. According to "Women, Work, and Wages: Equal Pay for Jobs of Equal Value" the slogan “equal pay for work of equal value” has replaced the slogan “equal pay for equal work,” which is embodied in the Equal Pay Act of 1963 (Treiman).
