Equal Opportunity: The Ideals Of The American Flag

Equal opportunity; one of the numerous ideals the American flag represents. Many come to America in seek of a better life and for more opportunity because they know they can achieve their goals through hard work. Several of my relatives have done just that, and have found success. In America every individual has the opportunity to control their own destiny and can achieve anything they set out to do, this I believe. America was built on freedom long ago in 1776. There is perhaps no other greater example of freedom than capitalism. It allows people to become anything they want to in life. It allows people to break away from an societal or class restrictions. It allows people to find success in many different ways, regardless of where they came from. Many other countries across the world are not capitalist and don't have benefits that come along with it. As Americans, we are entitled to engage in our dreams, we are able determine the course of our destiny, and we can achieve things we once thought impossible. Possessing these freedoms is both advantageous and beneficial to our daily lives. Although he had almost nothing to begin with, he started a business and worked day and night to grow it. Today he owns several businesses and is a millionaire because he dreamt big and put in the work. Furthermore, my uncle is just one example of the many who started with nothing and worked hard to achieve their dreams.
