According to the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, 11,412 Israelis and 72,504 Palestinians have been injured in addition to 1,195 Israelis and at least 9,131 Palestinians killed since September 29, 2000 due to pointless wars. As nationalism rises in Israel and Palestine, two opposing ideas rise in response to what will happen to the strip of land between Egypt and Jordan, thus starting the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict. Given that the Palestinians were kicked out, they feel like what happened to them was unfair because they removed from a place which was their homeland, this led them to start radical terrorist movements such as Hamas and later led to the development of ISIS. In doing so, this has drawn Israeli representatives justify their use of protective barriers by noting that “terrorism is a deadly obstacle to peace and the Israeli fence is a defensive obstacle to terrorism.” ("Top 10 Pros and Cons."). However, the Israelis of the area feel as though they are entitled to the area as Hebrew University Professor, Zwi Werblowsky states “the city has served as the symbol of historic existence of people hunted and massacred” while becoming “the local habitation and meaning of Jewish existence” ("Top 10 Pros and Cons."). Time after time, the Israelis have been cheated out of what they’ve deserved and the life they should have had. Year after year they have been targeted for miscellaneous reasons of which still plague them today, and due to this they have some feeling of determination to keep the land they own. The entire purpose of the conflict was to have peace but due to these drastic measures of starting terroristic revolutions, the option for peace in the situation has diminished.
