Epiphany Interview Questions

I chose to interview my mother, Angela Denise De Freece, to find out what advice she wants me to know before I enter the unrelenting world that stops for no one. She has been through so much in her life and most people would have given up, but not my mom. She came out stronger and wiser each time she hit a bump in the road.

What do you wish you knew at my age?
I wish i had more observant and listened to my elders more. And learned from their mistakes instead of trying to learning on my own.
2. So if you could go back, what would you have done differently?

Oh, I would have definitely left New York...well Newburgh, earlier and change the environment I was forced to live in as early as possible. Its just not a healthy place to be.
3. What was the eye opener that made you realize that? What caused the big epiphany?

but... I got pregnant. I stopped and it took me 12 years to get back to school. I wouldn't have been set back as far if i had just listened in the first place
4. That's really good advice but what about short term? I'm a senior, so what the best advice You can give me to finish out this last year of high school with my best foot forward?

Pleeeasse, stay focused on your asignments and listen to those who not only care about you but are also wiser than you because they will keep you in the right path. More importantly, follow your dreams. You're young and ambitious. Make it happen, baby girl! Don't ever give up on your dreams!
5. You got it, Boss! Passion over profit! But to get there, I have to recognize what my flaws are and build myself up from there. So, in your opinion, what advice can you give me to help me improve myself?

Oh you need to really get serious about your time management. You procrastinate too much and organization could be a little better. I mean look... your doing this interview and its due in a few hours! you just proved my point. Come on

Intergenerational Interview Paper Introduction The person that I interviewed was my mother, Catherine Scurlark. I thought I knew everything there was to know about her, but after this interview I feel like I have a much better perception about who she actually is and how the impact of events has shaped her into the woman that she is today. Whenever I tell someone where I live, they automatically believe that I am in a gang even if I am only 5 feet tall. Living in Barrio Logan I have faced so many typical stereotypes about my neighborhood, but I don’t see it that way. Barrio Logan is not just a neighborhood, it's a supporting community. Proximately 100 years after the Emancipation Proclamation, Colored Americans in Southern states still had a blunt unequal world of segregation and sundry forms of oppression, including race-influenced brutality. “Jim Crow” laws at the local and verbalize levels barred them from schools and restrooms, from theaters and certain transportation, from courts and constitutional rights. In 1954, the high court established the “separate but equal” law that composed the substratum for state-approved segregation, bringing international and national awareness to African Americans’ struggle. In the unstable decade and a moiety that followed, civil rights activists used peaceful protests and civil incompliance to establish change, and the federal regime made legislative improvement with actions such as the 1965 Voting Rights and the 1968 Civil Rights Act.…

When I first learned of this assignment my first thought was to interview my mom. She is the one person in my life I am closest to. Since we are only twenty three years apart, I thought it would be best to focus on her life up to the point where she decided to have kids. Though I knew most of what she told me it was still nice to just sit and talk about her life experiences. My mother was born to older parents and was the youngest of three children.…

My entire life I have always wanted to do something where I would be remembered positively by many people. I recall always telling myself I was going to become a backup dancer for a famous singer, become a singer myself, or maybe an actress. Better yet, I thought I could have been all three. As I entered middle school, I realized those goals were too surreal to even become the slightest bit possible, mainly since I am located in an area that most people haven’t even heard of. Back then, I was very uncertain about any career goals I have had.…
