“I’m telling you I was there!” the estranged man shouted once again. The journalist, having been talking to the man for the past hour, closed his eyes and massaged his forehead before saying, “You were there the day Christopher Columbus landed on America?” The man shook his head furiously and said, “No! It wasn’t Columbus who landed in America!” The journalist stood up and said, “I’m sorry but this sound too crazy to believe.” “Wait!” the man said as he began to open the satchel his was carrying, “I have proof.” The man dumped the satchels contents onto the journalist’s desk causing an enormous mess. The journalist shook his head and reluctantly sat back down. “Just look at this.” The man held up a dusty compass with cracks all over its …show more content…
The man chuckled, “Exactly.” He said smiling. “A compass and whatever all this stuff is, isn’t enough proof that you were with Columbus.” The journalist said, pointing at the assortment of papers and tools the man had dumped on his desk. “Ok then, maybe if I told you the story of what really happened, you will believe me.” The man replied. The journalist, convinced that he would not be able to get this man to leave any time soon, sighed and said. “Alright fine, tell me what really happened.” The man smiled and began to speak. “Well when Christopher Columbus had almost reached America, he entered the Bermuda Triangle.” “The Bermuda Triangle?” The journalist repeated. “Yes, once he entered the Bermuda Triangle, his ship sank, and his crew with it.” “Well then how did he discover America?” The journalist asked. “Let me finish.” The man said, obviously irritated. “I was holding on to a plank of wood, desperately trying not to drown when all of a sudden the ship rose up again from the water. I couldn’t believe it! The crew helped me out of the water and back onto the ship. But I could tell that there was something off about them. They looked like they did before, they sounded like they did before, but I could tell that
