Another thing that surprised me about this story was that Jenny and her wife Grace stayed together after the changes. Although, I think it is really special that they could make it work despite the choice to become Jenny. Grace realized that Jenny was still the same person she fell in love with, and decided that this meant she could still love him no matter what. Grace states in her own epilogue, "We didn't stay together only for the children. We stayed together for each other. If we had stayed together only for the children, we would never have made it through the last ten years" (Boylan 321). It is pretty amazing that Jenny and Grace stayed together for each other, and not just because they had children together. This was probably one of
