Epigenetic Inheritance

I believe epigenetic marks are inherited and not completely erased. Research has shown that many epigenetic marks remain, and genetic information is passed from one generation to the next, this process is called epigenetic inheritance. The science of epigenetic inheritance goes against conventional wisdom that “that inheritance happens only through the DNA code that passes from parent to offspring” (Epigenetics and Inheritance, 2016). Basically, it means that the historical experiences from the parent’s life experiences can be passed down in the form of epigenetic tags. How does epigenetic marks overcome the reproductive barrier?

That is, the epigenome changes more rapidly than the relatively fixed DNA code. An epigenetic change that was triggered by environmental conditions may be reversed when environmental conditions change again.

Epigenetic inheritance, provides some of the experiences or genetic coding of the parents may pass to future generations. “At the same time, the epigenome remains flexible as environmental conditions continue to change. Epigenetic inheritance may allow an organism to continually adjust its gene expression to fit its environment - without changing its DNA code” (Epigenetics and Inheritance, 2016).
In my opinion Epigenetics and Inheritance is an amazing genetic survivor ability gene that helps protect the genetic lifeline of the family’s DNA sequences for generations. I wonder if this process is part of the genetic link that help the great leap forward in our intelligence as humans.
